President won't work with board

What is the name of your state? OH

I was recently elected into the HOA board as an officer (all privately owned condos). Our President wants to run circles around us and not work with us. I finally got the books and I have valid concerns about papertrails and have asked for answers. Stalling is all I get. If I include ALL board members he goes balistic on us and just ignores everything anyhow. I suggested a management company.

However, I was wondering if I as an owner (not on the board) have the legal right to request all this information, plus copies of our minutes, bank statements, checks, loan transaction history on a monthly basis? I'm not getting it as a board member (he won't even put a second signer on the account) and I figure if I do it this way, I won't have him yelling at me because he's getting on my nerves and I've been trying to avoid getting in a screaming match, it's not worth my time. ( I was going to have my own attorney ask for all of it to state as "long as I live there" the board must submit all this info to me on a monthly basis).

Suggestion, elect a new President. Or are the others members just zombies who go along with whatever is done?

I am a member of HOA's where we are sent out quarterly statements of all activities performed by the Board, that includes financial matters. Our bank account requires the signature of the President and the Treasurer.

Next election run for the position of President or accept the uncooperative attitude.

The rest of the board are what you said Zombies. Don't make me laugh at running for the board ever again, I'll hire an attorney first to make sure I receive documentation on how our money is being used on a regular bases. Lets see if it brings the zombies out of the living dead state! I've got a full time job and better things to do than place babysitter to a bunch of apathetic people.
