renters upstairs make so much noise!!

What is the name of your state? Illinois

when we bought our condo 2 years ago, we had one owner living upstairs who was very quiet. now he went and rented his unit to 4 guys just out of college, and they are so loud, it's just horrible. we are trying to sell our condo, but we are not having luck due to the noise issue. i have two questions. 1) is it possible to add insulation at this point between the ceilings and if so, how effective is it? 2) we are the only two owners in the 3 flat. we never created a condo association list of rules or anything. do we have any right to kick these renters out since we never "approved" them to rent above us? do we have any rights here?

Q: is it possible to add insulation at this point between the ceilings and if so, how effective is it?

A: Go to a hardware store and ask them your question.

A: If you are saying that you have no list of rules, then there is nothing in writing indicating your rights. If the owner will not evict these people, you will just have to put up with them or sue them for nuisance.
