request for documentsIndiana I own a single Condo in a 24 unit building that has a Condo Association. I sent a written request to the Board to review the actual insurance policy that covers the building. I was told the Board does not have to provide me with the actual policy and they would only give me general information. I want to be able to review the entire policy that was provided by the Insurance Company. Whats "laws" or information can I provide the Board that details my right to this information. Thank you VERY mcuh for any advise you can give me! David from Indiana Last edited by david100; 03-20-2008 at 08:31 PM. Reason: correction |

| Look in your Bylaws -- there should be something in there about how each owner has the right to inspect ALL the records of your Condo Assn. Something similar happened to me. I asked to see the books, invoices and bank statements. They initially said I couldn't see any bank statements. After pointing out I was entitled to see all the Condo Assn. records, they had a change of mind & permitted me to see the bank statements. They had the account numbers blacked out which didn't bother me at all. So, quote your Bylaws to them in regards to your rights to see all the records -- which includes the insurance policy. Let us know how you make out. Good Luck. |
