| Who pays for condo conversion repairs? What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? FL
The federal government conveyed low cost apartments to the city of Miami who conveyed them to Miami-Dade County at which time the apartments were vacant. The County then sold them to a developer who converted the apartments to condominiums.
After individuals purchased the condominiums it was learned that the water pipes needed to be replaced. Also, a lift station keeps breaking causing sewage to enter the street. Because it is affordable housing, the owners cannot pay the assessments for these repairs.
Thus, since this is low cost housing, are there any federal laws that might help protect the condo owners and require either the developer or the County to pay for at least part of the repairs?
Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. |
