Construction Lien Help!!!!What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Florida Hello everyone. I'm new to the forum and looking for some help. I hired a contractor to remodel our kitchen/bathrooms on 9/1/08. We just finished up and the contractor was paid in full. The contractor signed a lien waiver and everything was fine. I received a letter from one of the guy that my contractor used to help him. It is a notice that a lien will be filed. The guy claims that the contractor owes him $1300 and said that I need to pay him. However, the contractor told me the amount owe is not right and that the guy is trying to get more money than owed. My contractor said that he would pay him what his is owed and nothing more. However, the guy would not accept the $650 for five days of work. What do I need to do? Thanks. David |

| I did get everything in writing. I have everything to cover myself. This guy does not have anything in writing, so how can he put a lien on my property and said that I owe him money? The issue is with him and my contractor. Apparently, the two used to be friends; however, they are not anymore. |

| Construction liens are created by state law statutes. Therefore, all questions and answers concerning construction law should identify what state the property is located in as that state's specific statute will control and the answer may vary from state to state. |
