What is the name of your state? North Carolina

We paid a contractor to hang and finish sheetrock in our basement. We paid him his final bill in good faith that he was to return the next day to complete the final touches. He refuses to return and we're left with an unfinished basement. Is there anything we can do?

**A: yes there is. Tell us what the NC state consumer protection and the BBB office told you to do.

North Carolina has a very proactive contactor's licensing board. Contact them and find out if the contractor has a license or would have been required to have a license to perform the work.

If he falls under their jurisdiction then you can file a complaint with them and I assure you that they do follow up on every complaint. The link is
