How do i get a mechanic's lein released from our house. We had construction done from October 03 to April 04. We had numerous problems with this contractor. He now filed a mechnics lein with the nassau county clerks on the house stating that we owed him close to $9,000. Which we do not. That is not even the big issue here. He lied on the lein and put the dates as OCt 2004 through Dec 2004 and the lein is dated Feb 28 2005. It says on the lein that a mechanic's lein must be issed with four months. There has not been any work done here since April 2004. Help. Any advice.
