How do you find out if there is a mechanic's lien on your home? We had shoddy work done over 3 yrs ago & witheld final payment to the contractor. We have applied for a home equity loan & are nervous that a mechanic's lien may be attached to our home. BTW...we refinanced this year...& all went well. Do you think we are safe from the lien at this point?
