What is the name of your state? Indiana

Helo all! A contractor put a lien on our property over two years ago but was sent through the recorder's office w/0 being notarized. We have all reciepts stating paid in full with the contractor and subcontractor~~ we don't wish to take this to court but just want to refinance our home. When I spoke with an attorney a year ago he told us not to worry about it, after a year the lien would not attach. Is this true? is there some kind of time limitation on something such as this? Just wondering if we should go ahead with the refinance of our home or seek counsel first.

All help is appreciated and thanks for reading!

**A: take your file to a real estate attorney right away. A title search needs to be completed.
