I was helping a friend remodel there kitchen and bathroom they agreed to pay me but I failed to get a signed copy of a contract. I am also unlicensed. They did give me an advance. They then decided to hire a construction company. They asked for money back and are withholding all of my tools until I pay. I tried to pay but every time an agreement was reached they would back out and ask for more money back. How do I hey my tools and can I be in trouble for not having a license?
