We have been having problems with the quality of workmanship in our new home from the builders subcontractors from the moment they dug out the ground for our foundation to today were our house is complete.

Some major issues we have had during the build and post punchlist fixes:
* Patio: broke the concrete on the back patio exposing the post tension support wire. They told us this wasn't a problem but we later found a crack in the garage foundation on the same line that runs parallel thru the house. They also replaced the concrete that was another color. We later asked for it to be sealed (mistake as they messed that up to).
* Patio Roof: The roof leaked during multiple days of rain. This damaged the drywall. They tried to cover it up with only patching the drywall tape. We stopped them and told them to replace it all. They grudingingly did it.
* Cross Lot Dig: 3 days before we were to move in they found out they put the electrical box on the wrong side of the house and had to do a cross lot dig. This postponed our move in and may sink the next time it rains.
* Gate: The gate was blown off three times. We asked them to replace the entire thing... block and all. They only screwed it back in and painted the fence.
* Island: One of the contractors drove a nail thru a water pipe. It leaked for over a month while we were in the house. We finally noticed it and notified the builder of it. They removed the entire island. We didn't have running water in the kitchen for a 4 days (we have 3 kids.. not easy). Now the are rebuilding it but have scratched the counter top. Damaged the dishwasher insulation, etc....

There are many more damaged items that just keep adding up. My question is whether or not we have any grounds for legal action. Can we get a lawyer to help push these things thru to get them fixed the way we expect them to be fixed or are we at the mercy of the builder?

Any ideas, options, thoughts would be appreciated.

**A: yes, you can hire a lawyer. Make sure your attorney specializes in construction defect litigation. Review your construction contract, plans and specs and request that the project architect/engineer complete progress inspections.
