What's the average fee charged by a lien company to file the 'release of a mechanic's lien'. In this case, the total charge is only about $2000 but it seems to be the lien company is charging a very high just to file the release

Also, if I send a payment directly to the roofer who filed the lien, is the lien company required to file a release anyways? This way, I can avoid the fee
