If student loans are in-school deferred are they counted as debt or expense?
Or do I list them as both?
I am not making any payments on them because they are deferred until I graduate.

I just did this with my chapter 7 case. My lawyer included the student loans as debt in the petition itself. Mine are also in deferrment until I graduate in January 2006. These will not be discharged so it really does'nt matter unless your lawyer is going after that.

The student loans are a DEBT, and they cannot be discharged. If you are not currently paying on them, then you can't list them as an expense.
