Additional document request

What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? MI

I received a letter from my attorney today regarding my upcoming Meeting of Creditors asking me to bring tax forms, pay stubs, titles deeds etc. I already provided her with all documentation that applies to me. Why is she asking me to bring this same ppwk to the meeting? Shouldn't it have been sent in with my petition?

I'm puzzled.

No, it does NOT get included with your petition. You'll have to take it with you to the 341 meeting in case the Trustee wants to see it. Chances are you won't need it, but better to have it and not need it than the other way around.

Some Trustees are more picky than others and want to see the docs for themselves.

shieldm -- I am in MI too... and our lawyer told us that she would be sending us a detailed letter of what we needed to bring to the 341 meeting. She said it would include stuff like tax returns, mortgage, check stubs, etc.... stuff that she already had. But she said she keeps her copy and the copies we bring are for the Trustee. I don't know if MI just automatically requires all the documentation or if my lawyer is just being prepared. I guess I should have asked her (along with a dozen other questions I forgot).
