Affected By Ex-Husband's Bankrutpcy? What is the name of your state? Mine is Oregon, but he is filing in Washington. My ex-husband is preparing to file bankruptcy. I believe he will be filing Chapter 13. Will the creditors turn to me for payment if he is claiming anything that was a joint debt? Or, does the filing extend to me as well on the debt? |

| If he is filing Ch 13, then it means his creditors will get paid and they shouldn't be bothering you. If he files Ch 7, expect to be hearing from the creditors on the joint accounts, you will be liable.
