Background check

What is the name of your state? California

I am in the process of filing BK. In fact my 341 meeting is in October. However I am worried.

I am going on a temp assignment at a bank in the mortgage department starting this week. Reception work mainly with a little data entry. The Temp agency said they need to do a background check.

I have alwyas had these at different places and never had a problem. Now I'm worried that it will show that I'm filing BK even though I haven't gone to the 341 metting yet. I'm worried that they will take me off the assignment before it really starts, it's an excellent position to get myself back on my feet. What should I do?

I used to work for a temp agency. Usually if they say background check, they are just checking to see what prior convictions/arrests you have had such as robbery, check deception, shoplifting, things like that. You will have to sign a release for this. Make sure that you ask them if they are going to run a credit check. Sometimes if they get your signature for one, they may run the other. I am not sure if the credit check will show up on the credit report or not. I also filed BK in Aug and my 341 hearing is in Oct. Personally, I think it would be too early for the BK to be reported...since it hasn't officially been discharged yet. But that is just my opinion. Good Luck to you!
