banking while in Bankruptcy

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? CA

My husband and I have already jointly filed Ch13. If I decide to open a new bank account at a new bank (under my name only and not put my husband on it), do I need to notify my trustee?

How would my trustee ever know anyway? I mean, do trustees routinely search for bank accounts looking for "hidden money"? Not that that is what I am doing, I just don't want to be accused of it if I decide to split off and do my own bank account. I guess I am just so afraid to get into trouble! Lord knows I don't want to have to start the BK process all over again.

Thanks!

Nobody cares about your banking relationships . As long as you make the plan payments and disclose any information that may have an affect on your plan you're fine.
If your plan hasn't been confirmed and, you open a new bank account your lawyer may feel the need to amend the schedules to disclose it.
