BankruptcyWhat is the name of your state? i live in ohio) i need to file for bankruptcy right away. i been off work on medical leave and i have any income. i have heard a person can file on their own. i have a house which i own 1/5 of , i don't live in the home at this time,but my brother live there ,can the court seize the home ,i 'm in about 15000 in debt . i need help fast. please help me. I have to file 7. |

| The court will not seize the house. Since you only own 1/5th of the house, then only 1/5th of any equity would be considered your portion. If that is within the exemptions for your state, then you've nothing to worry about. You can file pro se (without a lawyer), but it will take some time to get the forms filled out properly.. if you don't, you risk dismissal of your bankruptcy. |
