Bankruptcy ?My exgirlfriend and I own a house together. I have not lived there in 7 years.....but she has. She has avoided foreclosure of the property this time by filing chapter 13. With both of us on the mortgage and her filing chapter 13 .....how does this effect me? Thanks in advance. |

| It shouldn't really affect you at all with a Ch 13. Secured debts get paid back at 100% in a Ch 13, so as long as the bank is getting paid, you should be fine.

| "how does this effect me?" *** Ladynred is correct in that it doesn't affect you IMMEDIATELY. However, it could have some fairly drastic affect if the property is foreclosed on (can happen in chapter 13, more likely if it converts to chapter 7) of if she simply agrees to 'turn it over' to them. The lender will then come after you.

Why has he spent over $1.35M in legal fees to block disclosure... rather than spend $12 for a VALID birth cert to settle the matter? The 'certificate' he has presented doesn't qualify to get a drivers license, wouldn't allow a child to qualify for Little League, or for a real citizen to get a US passport! |
