What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? North Carolina

My wife and 4 other siblings inherited their mothers home and property upon her death last year. All five of their names are on the deed.

One of the brothers filed chapter seven bankrupycy without the knowledge of the other siblings. Can a lein be placed upon the property by the court and if so can the other four be forced to sell the property at current market value? We do not wish to do this.

Assuming he filed within 180 days of her death, it could be a huge problem. A lot depends on the amount of equity involved-is it worth the trustees time and effort to force a sale.
