| My Mother, a 77-year-old resident of CA was recently widowed. Her husband left her with her Social Security and a lot of bills she can't possibly pay. If she declares bankruptcy, what can she claim as exemptions---equity in a reversed mortgaged house, furniture, car, personal effects, proceeds of a very small life insurance policy are all that she has. What is the first step we need to take regarding this situation? Thank you. |
