Bankruptcy help and protection of assets

What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state?undefinedWhat is the name of your state? Oregon

I want to file for BK and want to protect my assets.
I own my mobile 21k and my car 2500. I am married but filing seperately. I am about 90k in credit card debt (no bank loans or secured loans just straight credit card debt) and will not have charged in 60-90 days from the time I think I am going to file. I am hesitant to file because I do not want to lose my property, car or household goods. I pass the income test (I am negative so thats not a problem). Also, I owe the IRS about 10k from 2003. I don't know what CC co's can do to try and get their money back. Can some one please help. Thanks.

Yep. Contact a local bankruptcy attorney who can review your ENTIRE finanicial situation and advise what may be your best options... if any.

Why has he spent over $1.35M in legal fees to block disclosure... rather than spend $12 for a VALID birth cert to settle the matter? The 'certificate' he has presented doesn't qualify to get a drivers license, wouldn't allow a child to qualify for Little League, or for a real citizen to get a US passport!

I have contacted a bk attorney and she said bk attorneys are very careful who their clients are now that the new laws are in effect. Before I go I was wondering if some one had an idea with the short synopsis of my story. Thanks..

The issues... and specifics... of bankruptcy are far more complex now than they were in the past. As such, it would not be practical, or responsible, for anyone to 'offer a guess' what might happen to you without a COMPLETE review of your financial issues.... which is why I advised you to let a local bankruptcy EXPERT review your issues.

Oregon.
I consulted an attorney who advised I wait about 10-11 months to file. In the mean time my bills will just have to pile up since I have no means to pay them. He indicated that since I had purchases and a cash advance 2 months ago he said my bankruptcy would be in trouble. I was basically living on my cards since my husband has become disabled and I am a little apprehensive about changing my phone number and just waiting and letting the bills pile up??? Have you heard of this???

IF you are going to actually go through with the filing you're just wasting your money by paying them right now anyways. I stopped paying mine MONTHS before I filed... I got tons of collection letters though.

Thats why they advised changing phone number. When they send collection letters and so forth with the new laws is there any danger for me. My biggest problem now is the IRS. Obviously they will not wait months. They say the minimum payment they can accept is more than I can pay so they indicated that they would file a federal tax lien against me if I filed a statement of assets that proved I am unable to pay. That scares me more than the credit card people. My bk lawyer is not a tax and I have to wait to get more money for the tax lawyer. IT is very depressing. Any advise??? Thanks for your help, it is very much appreciated.
