I borrowed against my house from Empire funding in Texas,it is a secured loan, Empire Funding filed bankruptcy in September of 2000. In December i received a paper from Wilshire Credit Corporation of Portland Oregon, saying i owed all the back payments and i have thirty days to comply. How can they make me pay all the back payments when they did not have the loan until Decmeber. I didnot receive anything from them until December 10 2000. I mailed them a payment of 130.00 dollars for December and January which i feel that is only owed. Am i obligated to pay the back payments?

I highly recommend you consult an attorney in your area. This is a very complex issue on your house and this board will most likely not give you the answers you will need.
