| I am from Oregon. My husband and I declared chapter 7 bankruptcy almost 2 years ago. We have been told by a couple different mortgage lenders that after our bankruptcy has been discharged for 2 years we could still qualify for a first-time buyers FHA home loan. Is this true or are they just blowing smoke? We both have established credit since the bk. Thank you, JoLynn |

| Yes, you can get a home loan typically 2 years after your bk. No, I don't know if FHA is one you can qualify, but there are home loans out there that one could qualify with after this time frame. Best bet is to apply when the 2 yr mark is up. Also, you will find ads that say that bankruptcy is OK to qualify at their mortgage lending company. |
