bankruptcy in my jobWhat is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? Wa. state In the process of a divorce and had to file for bankruptcy. my wifes att. was awarded $1200.00 att. fees, and she garnisheed my wages. My wifes att. sent some papers to my job and my att. said just to send the papers back to the att. the money awarded to my wifes att. went into the bankruptcy. My wifes att. has now filed papers against my job because they didn't send the papers back to her and is sueing my company for l$1500.00. Can she do this?state? |

| I have no idea how to answer the "papers" question because you didn't say what they were for or what they did. As to whether the attorney fees are dischargeable, they probably are, UNLESS they could be construed as being in the nature of spousal support. FYI, if your debt for the attorney fees is discharged, then your lovely ex-spouse will get to pay them or file a BK herself. |

| the papers were some papers that, I guess, my company was suppose to fill out, something to do with the garnishement my wifes att. took out because I couldn't pay her for the att. fees the court gave her, gee I can hardly pay my own att. But what I was wondering is if she can do that with me filing for the bankruptcy? |
