BankruptsyWhat is the name of your state? California I was discharged from bankruptcy in 1999. One of my creditors perfected a lien on my home. I am now trying to sale the home. The lien keeps coming up. How do I remove this lien from my property? |

That will never happen, so we go to plan B. You will have to find a title company that will work with you. Show them a certified copy of the discharge of the debt. Then ask them if you can indemnify them against any loss if they insure over the lien (in other words, they won't mention it when they issue their title policy for the new owners). It's up to you to look around and find such a company if you want to sell your place. Your real estate agent may have suggestions.
