The only way the lien will be removed is if you pay your debt.
That will never happen, so we go to plan B.
You will have to find a title company that will work with you. Show them a certified copy of the discharge of the debt. Then ask them if you can indemnify them against any loss if they insure over the lien (in other words, they won't mention it when they issue their title policy for the new owners).
It's up to you to look around and find such a company if you want to sell your place.
Your real estate agent may have suggestions.
