| We live in Connecticut and we are in the final stages of bankruptsy. We have only our filing fee to pay. We are claiming against the state. We own a 3 family (1 single house on the same property with a 2 family). We have 11/3 acres. We owe approximately 127,000. on the mortage and it is appraised for 166,000. We had a CMA done and it came to 186,500. We are checking with zoning to make sure this property cannot be divided. (it seems to be a grandfathered thing).
Our question:
1. can we be forced to forfeit all or part of our property.
2. how soon after bankruptsy can we sell this property
3. can we stop the bankruptsy if we have not paid the filing fees and sell the property ourselves.
4. which would be the best recourse for us
We are basically filing to get rid of credit card debt due to the loss of my job last July. We are paying our other bills. |
