Being Harrassed by TrusteeHELP Illinois is the name of my state. My mother filed Chapter 7 in 2003, it went through this year. She paid the Lawyer the proper fees. Now the trustee is demanding all this money , ($4500), or threatening she'd be in contempt. Doesn't Chapter 7 prevent things like this from happening? Isn't what this Trustee is doing Illegal?Last edited by mommyduwal; 07-24-2004 at 11:00 AM. Reason: Not posted...threaded |

Maybe...Even after a bankruptcy is discharges, the trustee MAY have legal grounds to collect money on behalf of the creditors who didn't get pay. Tax refunds, inherited money, and certain other types of "windfall" money for example. What extra money did your money run across that the trustee is claiming? Give us more information... |
