Which is better, death or bankruptcy?

What is the name of your state? Ohio

So many stressors, so little time. I've never felt more like turning in my keys, if you know what I mean. There doesn't seem to be anything really good and happy right now. And bankruptcy just is icing on the cake.

Has anyone else felt this way? I need to know there's no reason whatsoever to pull the car into the garage, hook up a hose to the exhaust, and go to sleep forever. I can't stand the anxiety of a million different things. And I don't even get creditor calls.

I never thought things would get so hard and difficult in my life. The only thing that keeps me around, it seems, is that I wouldn't get to see my baby, I'd miss my family, and I think it's a selfish thing to do.

But if I lose my mind any further, I don't know what I'm going to do. I need some it's gonna be all rights. Where can I get those?

Have you even *considered* consulting with a bankruptcy attorney to find what your REAL situation and options would be ??
If not, then you need to and stop guessing and worrying w/o the facts.

I know you wanted an 'its gonna be ok' kinda hug, but lets get a grip and get real about this. You're talking about suicide and you aren't even behind on your financial obligations ?? You've not been verbally abused and harrassed by a single collector yet you're wallowing in the depths of self-made despair ?

I know very well what the stress over finances can do to you - I've been there.. I'm still in it and its far from over, but NO debt, is EVER worth your life and your family .. never, never, never !

I'd take bankruptcy over death ANY DAY !! You can recover from bankruptcy - there is no recovery from death.

Talk to your wife, go see a BK lawyer or 2, and get the FACTS first. As my mother would say - you're puttin' the cart before the horse !!

**A: BK is far better than death. All my clients that have filed BK can attest to that.

It will get better...at the beginning of this year my wife and I were in dire straights(nightmare land)...it seemed that our business was failing...couldn't pay our bills...it just couldn't get much worse...creditors were calling and calling...using the various discussion boards(just found this one) we started researching our options concerning bankruptcy...we learned everything we could and then found an attorney...we filed for a chapter 7 on 5/22 had our 341 on 7/9...it went well...we will be discharged sometime after 9/8...we've kept our small tech business, house and cars, and business is improving...we've even been able to keep our relationship with our credit union. IT WILL GET BETTER! Bankruptcy is not the end of the world...hang in there...find a good attorney, hold your head up and do what you need to do...the worst thing you can do is to sit around and feel sorry for yourself...take action...you will be amazed at how much better things can be with a fresh start.

Off the deep end

I know, I'm totallly off the deep end. Just a really, really bad day. One of those days where you just pretty much feel like everything is going to hell in a hand basket. You know, those alone days where your wife has ripped you a new one for something that you can't fix or change, though you desperately wish you could. One of those days where crawling into bed just sort sounds like the best thing you could do. Suicide, of course, is never the answer, and I know that. I shouldn't've even brought it up. But bad days are just the worst, you know. And when you throw relationships into the mix, they get even worse.

Boy have we been down that road....but you know what? It's been a rocky road but we do not regret having done it, in our case it was for different circumstances , but there's a light at the end of the tunnel.
We have two children, live a totally normal life after BK, and if anything it has made us smarter and stronger.
YES, there's a life after BK, in our case it's a better one.

My response:

Would one of my copyrighted and patented "Top 10" lists help to make you feel better?

TOP 10 Things You Should Think About Before You Commit Suicide - -

NUMBER 10: Accept $50.00 from me so I can watch you having sex with your wife's sister.

NUMBER 9: Beat a moose to death.

NUMBER 8: The punishment for suicide in your County: $15 fine and a written apology.

NUMBER 7: Suicide by exhaust fumes is just so tacky. How about if I give you tickets to a John Tesh concert instead?

NUMBER 6: "Give me lesbians or give me death!"

NUMBER 5: You could go watch guys on death row lethally injecting themselves.

NUMBER 4: I could send you a lovely bouquet of flowers with a note saying, "Cheer Up, Or I'll Kill You."

NUMBER 3: If you were to kill yourself, your death shroud would clearly read the words "Holiday Inn". How tacky is THAT?

NUMBER 2: You could fake your own death, shave your mustache and go by the name "HomeGuru".

AND NOW, the NUMBER ONE Thing You Should Think About Before You Commit Suicide - -

It's not a pretty sight for others because suicides ALWAYS crap in their pants.

Hell, this is an easy thing to get over. Here on the road where I live we call it "Refinancing"....find a woman/man who has mo money and marry them.

Happens all the time here.
