BK after foreclosure???

What is the name of your state? Ohio

Okay, You guys have been great!!! Have another poser

in my divorce our home was foreclosed, sherrif sale was 8/2002. Had a VA first and a 125% second mortgage. I was told at that time, that in the state of OHIO the lenders had 2 years which to collect any unpaid balance left after the sale.

I thought I was finally in the clear, nothing showing from the second on my credit report. (balance left unpaid was 30k). Now that my ex has filed bankruptcy I have creditors calling me to collect the balance. I will be forced to file bankruptcy if their threats of getting a judgement against me are founded.

Anyone know any accurate info....I've spent the last 2 hours trying to google an answer.

Again, any advice is appreciated

Not sure where you got the 2 year limit thing, I don't think it exists.

If he's going to BK on those mortgages, and your name was on them jointly, the creditors/collectors WILL come after you for payment and could very well sue.
