I live in Michigan and I want to know, I have been in a 13 for 18months of a 48 month process. We send in the payments to the court and are not late or missing any payments. I have a mortgage company that is setting me up with an FHA Bakruptcy buyout program and I do qualify! They have been trying to get a payoff amount from my attorney for 2 weeks but he won't respond. He told me that we can't buyout our bankruptcy until after 36 months.??? He says if I do that, any creditor can come back after my for the difference?? I spoke to someone at the bankruptcy court and she said that as far as she knows, if you buy out a bankruptcy early, once you pay it off, it's done and no previous creditor problems will come back to haunt me, is this true???

Listen to your lawyer.
If you try and refi now, the odds are the trustee will snaggle enough equity to repay your unsecured creditors at 100%.
