can you add bills??What is the name of your state? KANSAS This may seem like a silly question and I know I should know the answer but I do not. Our bankruptcy has not been discharged yet, and I just had an expensive surgery done in the last two weeks and I do not have health insurance. Can I add the hospital bill and surgeons bill to the bankruptcy or is that a no-no? Thank you |

| DO you have a lawyer? If not, I think this would be the time to see one. |

| Those debts that were acquired AFTER the date of filing are post-petition debts and cannot be added to the current bankruptcy case. If those debts are significant, however, you might want to dismiss your current bankruptcy petition now and refile it at a later date so that you CAN include those debts. Yes, it's going to cost money to refile it, but if those medical debts are significant, you're going to end up on the same financial hole that you're trying to dig out of with the current BK filing. I would concur with bigun that you need to talk to your BK attorney. Best of luck to you! |
