Ch.13 Completed & Property Taxes

What is the name of your state? Arkansas

**Not sure where to post this so putting it in both Tax Law and BK law...

My husband and I have just completed our 5yr Ch.13 BK that was filed in 1998. In our plan we filed our 1997 Property Tax "Homestead" with the County as a creditor. Since we were under BK they would not allow us to pay our Yearly Property taxes until we were discharged. Called our Lawyer he said that was because they were a creditor listed under our plan and of course could not take payment for anything until we were discharged. Which leads me to my question.

We have completed the plan in the last two weeks. Waiting on final discharge papers now. The court house says we must pay all the taxes for the time we were under Bk at once or lose our house. With the exception of 1997 which was included in our BK and do not have to pay that now. Until they recieve a copy of our discharge papers they will not release an amount of which we owe. My question is since we were not allowed to pay these taxes while under the plan will we still have to be liable for late fees and penalties? And if so how can I find out what the amounts might be for them if no one will release information to me until they recieve discharge papers. That makes no sense to me. How can I pay it as soon as discharged if they won't even tell me a ball park figure? Also since again we were not allowed to pay these taxes is there some kind of grace period or time period given since we were under BK and not allowed to pay it?

TIA For any and all opinions on this matter..
