I have been trying to do my own BK 7 and am struggling with the schedules portion of it. Ihave a house and im not sure what form it goes on. the rest of my creditors rae just misc. credit and medical. can someon eplease help me?

If you own a house, I strongly urge you to hire an attorney. The simplest of mistakes can result in losing the house. No self-help book can possibly alert you to all the issues that might exist in your case, and you'll likely misunderstand those issues anyway unless you've got a law degree. Once you file, you're stuck too: you can't dismiss a ch. 7 case except for cause, and discovery of a legal problem that will cause the trustee to get your house is not "cause".

If you're going to file on your own, you may want to contact your local U.S. Bankruptcy Court Clerk's Office and ask them if they offer a Free Legal Clinic for Chapter 7 Debtors.

The clinic that's offered where I live happens every other Friday at 9AM and is hosted by an experienced volunteer Bankruptcy Attorney. The debtor can purchase a complete Chapter 7 filing kit for approximately 5 dollars and then the Attorney reviews the debtor’s situation and every schedule and explains how the forms should be filled out. Two weeks later, the debtor attends the clinic again and an Attorney reviews the forms and offers advice. Sometimes the advice that's offered is to hire a Bankruptcy Attorney (because it's not a standard/simple chapter 7).
