Chapter 7 and Foreclosure

What is the name of your state? Texas

I just filed for Chapter 7 Bankruptcy on December 27. My house was set to be sold at the foreclosure auction on January 3, but was automatically stopped because of the filing. Our 341 meeting is set for January 27. I am turning my house in on the bankruptcy because I can no longer afford the payments due to a loss of job. I have not recieved any notices that it is set for foreclosure for February, but do they have to notify me the same as before since I have now filed for Bankruptcy? If so how many days notice do they have to give me? A friend told me today that they were not sure that the same foreclosure notices had to be given since we were turning our house back over to the mortgage company in our bankruptcy. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!

Before anything happens, they must file for relief from stay. Once that's granted or the bk is discharged they may proceed with foreclosure. The procedure and time line vary by state. Ask your lawyer what to expect.
