chapter 7 & foreclosure

What is the name of your state? N.Y.

If a foreclosure is in process and the home is about to go on auction and then the person claims chapter 7 the auction is canceled and the foreclosure goes on hold. How long does it take for the foreclosure/auction proceedings to continue again ?? Thanks !

The filing will stay the foreclosure sale. But you'll only buy yourself about 30 days. I can get a motion for stay relief through the court in 23 days, which would then allow the sale to go forward.
