Question

A while back I was taken to court over some apparent damages I did to a place I was renting (for only 6 months).
The landlord, not the owner of the property (the owner is his 16 year old son who is not living with him), took me to small claims court for those damages.
Some of the damages were charged to the previous tennants, but they do not have any slips proving that.
The court case started in December of 99 and ended June 2000....
The last day of court the landlord didn't even show up, so he lost the case...
At the ruling his lawyer was called and he told us that he was filing bankruptcy.
We just now recieved the chapter 7 paperwork.

I live in Wisconsin and I know there is the law of the 21 day return of security deposit, which says that if it not returned in 21 days we can get double the security deposit, which that was included in the court case..
The total amount he owes us is about 2750.00 and 1600 of that is rent stuff and 800.00 was for the lawyer and the rest are odds and ends like lost wages and mileage...

What routes could I take to get my full amount (or is it possible)

I was told if you could prove it was a false case which it was.... #1 the guy didn't show up for the last day of court, #2 the previous place I rented I was there for 3 years and I have a reference from them saying I was a PERFECT tennant (I also recieved my full security deposit), #3 I am able to get a statement from the previous tennants of things they were charged for and those are things that I was charged for, the only problem is they do not have an reciepts.
(Would it be better to have them goto a court house and get it noterised?)

Please help....what can I do to get my money?

Thanks!
Todd
