chapter 7 questionWhat is the name of your state? Ohio If I file ch 7, once the hearing is done, then what happens? Does the trustee keep an eye on your situation for a certain amount of time, as in ch 13 with the payment plan, etc? And in filing ch 7, who determines the worth of personal property? Do they send someone to your home to see what you have, etc? Just wondering what to expect..the whole prospect is a little scary and I'm really wondering if someone is going to, quite literally, go thru my underwear drawer. lol Thanks |

| I don't know if they go through your underwear draw...but I will let you know. Our Trustee has decided to file an objection to our personal exemptions. Here in Florida it is $1000.00 each for myself and $1000.00 for my husband. the trustee seems to think we undervalued our property and is petioning to hire an auctioneer to come to our home. We valued at garage sale prices which is what our lawyer told us to do. just found this out yesterday and will call lawyer on monday to see who pays the $100.00 hour that the auctioneer charges. I wonder if he will clean my garage for me?LOL!!! A little humor is nesessary to get through this very stressful situation. |
