Claim of ExemptionsWhat is the name of your state?Florida I need to file a Claim of Exemptions to try and protect my only assets from a lawyer who has a judgment against me and my wife. Can we each file a claim or do we have to do it jointly? We do not have much. I want to claim Head of Household and the assets I want to claim are about $400 in tools and a truck which belongs to my son but is titled in my name worth about $500. I think I'm entitled to claim $1000 in personal property. Is that right? If my wife can claim an exemption also will she be able to claim another $1000? The only thing she would claim will be about $400 in furniture. Also do we have to wait for a writ to be issued before we file or can we do it beforehand? |

| Who is the judgment issued against ??? If its just you, then only YOU can file the exemptions, the joint marital property is only technically 1/2 yours.
