| I have a line of credit that is currently in collections. On several occasions, I have allowed the collection agency to create a check for payment over the phone. For the past few months I have been ignoring the collection agency and not taking their calls because I don't have any money to give them. So they just started making checks from my account on their own!!! They sent me a confirmation letter saying I gave them permission but I did not. They used an odd dollar amount and a check way out of sequence. Is there any recourse for this? [This message has been edited by BoomerTC (edited June 07, 2000).] |

| Bad news. NEVER EVER EVER give a collection agency access toy our bank account! And you also made a serious mistake by not communicating with them. If you can't pay, tell them. Try to work things out with them. Try to make them your friend instead of your enemy. Lake of communication will do exactly that- they will do whatever it take to do their job, regardless of how unpleasant it may get. If I was you, I'd start talking with a lawyer. And your bank. Maybe your bank can put a stop payment on all automatic withdrawals from your account. |
