convert to chapter 13 in Georgia?

After losing my job and my husband's new business failed, we started a Chapt 7. The creditors meeting is 11/08. We are reaffirming on our home, one vehicle and bedroom furniture. I had planned on finding employment before my unemployment benefits ended. I have 2 weeks left and no job yet. My husbands
hours on his job have been cut also. We can not afford to pay the full amount of the 1st and 2nd mortgage on our home now. We do not want to lose it if there is any other option. On a chapt 13 is the payment plan ever less than the payments are now? Is this an option for us until I find a job? If not, any suggestions? I will call our lawyer Monday.
