I filed bankruptcy in the state of Florida but before my confirmation hearing was held, I was able to sell my home and pay off my debts. Therefore, it wasn't necessary to follow thru with the bankruptcy and it was dismissed by the Court within a couple of weeks. I've recently learned the credit reporting agencies have listed the bankruptcy and each of my previous creditors as part of the bankruptcy. I know I need to get this corrected with each individual creditor but can I demand the credit reporting agencies delete the listed bankrupcy from my credit report altogether since I never went through with it? Should I send them a copy of the Court's dismissal as proof? The "bankruptcy" raises a major red flag and I'm now refused credit of any type for a period of 10 years. |
