What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Arkansas

Need some advice. My recently deceased ex filed for bankruptcy 12/13/08. He passed away 12/19/08. Status is "awaiting first meeting, awaiting trustee report".

He filed Chapter 7 and paid the filing fees. What generally happens in cases such as this where the deceased passes before everything is finalized?

You should probably speak to the deceased person's bankruptcy attorney. In some cases, the bankruptcy can proceed, even though the filer has died. Chances are though the case will be dismissed, but you should talk to the lawyer first.
