Question

dischargable debt.

What is the name of your state? south carolina

my husband and i have filed a chapter 7 bankruptcy. our creditors meeting is in a week. if a creditor was disputing a discharge on a debt would we have been notified already, or do they wait till the creditors meeting. also we have a payday loan company that is harrassing us. can this debt be discharged in the bankruptcy is was over 60 days ago and we wrote it when we lived in kentucky. all these creditors seem to come out of the woodwork at the same time. i was just curious to see if this debt was dischargable under the bankruptcy since they keep calling. i have sent them a letter certifed and return receipt and told them they were in violation. if they call again can we tell them this debt is dischargeable. that way if they call i will have some ammo to tell them.thanks for all your help...

The 341 meeting is for creditors to make any objections to the bankruptcy, you will not find out till then. And make sure you tell the trustee that a creditor listed on you matrix has been in violation of the stay of collections.
