| I live in Texas. I have received notification that I owe a debit (Credit Card) that was written of as a bad debit in 1990 the account went inactive 1986. It hasnt shown anywhere as active on any credit reports and there are no judgements filed. How am I to respond to this inquiry? It was part of debits owed in a prior marriage. Please help |

They are trying to collect a debt, and they hope they can fool you into paying it, hoping that you don't realize that the Statute of Limitations has run out, years ago, which is 4 years on a written contract, or 4 years on an "open account - e.g., credit card", from the date of last payment. Tell them to "go pound sand on the shores of the Gulf of Mexico."
