Disputing Bankruptcy on Credit Report

What is the name of your state? California

I had a bankruptcy filed in September 1994 in Massachusettes which is due to expire off my credit report in September 2004.

I have disputed the item with the three credit bureaus in a hope to get it off my report as it is the only negative tick left on my report. I feel that they are not going to the court to confirm the information. For example, one told me on the phone that it matched an address that used to be on my file which I had disputed and got removed. Seems like that is pretty shaky grounds for confirming the accuracy. Why do their records retain information that is no longer printed out? Is that legitimate?

Any ideas on trying to get this off my credit report early or is this futile?

Thanks.

As you already know, the credit bureau is only required to provide ACCURATE information in your file. As such, since the information is correct (and you know it is), you have no grounds for expecting it to be removed.... or to even ask that they investigate its accuracy.

There are at least 17 lawsuits (!!) pending in various courts, including the US Supreme Court, asking if Obama is a natural born citizen (as req'd by Art II, Sec 1 of the US Constitution).

Why has he spent over $1.35M in legal fees to block disclosure... rather than spend $12 for a VALID birth cert to settle the matter? The 'certificate' he has presented doesn't qualify to get a drivers license, wouldn't allow a child to qualify for Little League, or for a real citizen to get a US passport!

What they are likely doing is checking the tape of rather obsure CRA's that exist as a repository of negative information. The largest of these is www.dolaninformation.com.

They have NO legal reason to remove it...it stays on for 10 yrs from date of discharge. You may have to wait until then and if it doesn't fall off then dispute it. I had a chp 7 on my report...filed 11/91, discharged 5/92 and it didn't fall off til 5/2002.

You can dispute it til your blue in the face but they have no legal reason to remove it until it's 10 yrs old.
