Question

Effect of personal bankrupcy upon spouse

What is the name of your state? Florida
I am concerned about the effect of filing personal bankrupcy upon my spouse.
If I am the only one declaring bankrupcy in the family for my personal debt incurred prior to marriage, will this have an effect on the credit rating of my spouse? We are looking to purchase a home and do not want this to hinder our chances at obtaining low interest financing. Any suggestions?

No. Marriage does not combine your individual credit reports. The only effect it will have is when you try to get credit jointly, THAT will be a problem for a few years. Any debts that are joint that you must include in your bankruptcy could cause the bankruptcy to show up on your spouse's reports, but that is pretty easily disputed off.
