ex's bankruptcy & my school loans

Ex declared bankruptcy and declared my school loans (which he was awarded in the divorce). His name isn't on the official paper-work and I wasn't notified of the bankruptcy. He says he doesn't have to pay, but they are Federal loans: Can they be reasigned to him or better yet, does he still have to pay? The loan company wasn't notified of the bankruptcy either. Please help.
