Question

Few more Questions concerning Chapter 7

Since we have 2 vehicle payments, current on both and need both to travel to work, I understand that we should be able to keep both in the state of Kansas, is this correct? Also, I owe for school loans and I have been told that these are not dischargeable in a chapter 7, so do I list them as a debt?

What about back medical expenses court ordered from a paternity case? My husband just found out that he is the father of a kid 4 years old that he didn't know existed and we got the back child support dropped since we have just established paternity however, this amount that they want us to pay to the court for HER SRS collection is burdened to us, so can we include this as debt and have it discharged?

Obviously we are filing ourselves since we have drained all resources with our attorney battling legal issues over paternity and support.

Thanks for any help,

Pam

The student loans should be listed as an unsecured debt, but they will not be dischargeable.

You'll need to discuss the paternity issue with an attorney in your area, but my reaction is that you won't be able to discharge the debt related to the medical expenses.
