Filing BK in another stateWhat is the name of your state? California Divorce became final on Dec. 18, 2002. Ex-husband got out of paying spousal support by claiming he would file bankruptcy on $80K of credit card debt. None of it in my name. Can he file in another state such as Nevada, Indiana or Hawaii? Would I be notified of discharge? If so, how? |

| He can only file where he's been a RESIDENT for 6 months, that is the residency requirement. He can't just go somewhere and file papers there. As for your being notified of his discharge - IF he includes YOU as a creditor, you'll get notice of his 341 meeting.
